About

Hey Y’all! I’m SarahBeth…the Southern of Southern Meets Mennonite.

.sarahheadshot1

I grew up on a family owned cattle ranch in the heart of south west Florida; home to this front porch view and the best memories a girl could have.

My neighbors were family and cousins, like brothers and sisters. Here is my one big happy family (and this is just my mom’s side!):

I thought my life was complete until I met my other half, the Mennonite of Southern Meets Mennonite.

And…I thought my family was big until I met his!

Weldon was raised up in the Mennonite faith, heritage and community. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he is the second to youngest of seven children. The Campbell family owned and operated a swine farm in Elkton, Maryland. Then in 1992, they relocated to the same little small town where my family was and planted a church.

We both grew up living only about 10 miles apart in a town where everybody knew everybody, except for the two of us. We were haphazardly introduced to one another by my Uncle, at our friends’ wedding on March 16, 2013, and it was love ever since.

Eight months later we were engaged on New Year’s Eve. (He proposed in front of all the family on the dock at our Lake House.)

Then on a very special day in November (the 29th), 2014, we stood before our family and friends and vowed to spend the rest our lives together.

And that my friends is how Southern met Mennonite <3

I am pretty sure I am going to enjoy this!! Can we get this pork roll down here anywhere? Sarasota? I make a sandwich very similar only I used canned corned beef , and no catsup. I also add chopped sweet pickles. It’s good cold or warmed in the bun.

    Have fun with this site!

That sounds yummy Mrs. Marcy! And yes, Weldon throws these in his lunch box and eats them cold too…makes it easy for me 🙂

I’m going to check with some of the places locally to see if they have pork roll and I will get back with you. I’m thinking Detweiler’s might be able to point us in the right direction if they don’t already have it themselves.

      Thanks for reading!

John Martin’s meats are the best. I live in Florida and still love Martin’s sweet Lebanon bologna.
I have kin in Chestertown Maryland, the Stoltzfus’s. My wife’s family was originally from Dover Delaware. Thanks for sharing the recipe. We grew up in Morgantown PA eating a similar sandwich.

Hi Elam! Thanks for stopping in to read the blog! I haven’t ever tried the bologna but that sounds like it should be next on my list!
My husband also loves pork roll sliced & fried with eggs too!

Hi SaraBeth…I sent you an order form for specialty cookies for a baby shower on September 3. I have not heard from you, so I was wondering if you received the order form, along with the pictures of the cookies. I received your info from RHONDA. Hope to hear from you soon!
